Coach Herman

Herman, is a Mitt-Work Specialist, Boxing Coach, Strength and Conditioning trainer.
 
He thinks of himself as a student who fell in love with boxing. He has devoted himself in learning and perfecting the art of mitt work and made it into his own craft.
 
At the age of 19, he stepped into the boxing ring as a fighter and now has become a USA Boxing Coach.
 
He volunteers at an after school program as a boxing coach for underprivileged kids and would love to one day train with professional boxers.


Coach Herman instructs the following:
  • ADVANCED BOXER'S Training Class
  • Members who have achieved their boxing fundamentals with our Head Coach recommendation and assessment, will have access to this training. This class is designed to take your boxing skills to the next level. We will work on partner drills and mitt-work. These skills will help you build the confidence to get inside the ring to spar.

    Boxing gloves, hand wraps and jump rope are required.

    This training is for SILVER MEMBERS ONLY. 

    NO NEW GUEST OR CLASS PASS GUEST.

     
    Boxing gloves, hand wraps and boxing shoes are required.

    Class variations: 60 min/75 min

    Who can participate? Adults only, 18yrs of age and over.


  • BEAST/BOXERS Training Class
  • Strength & Conditioning (Boxing Explosive Agility Strength Training) + Boxer's Training Class

    This powerful one-hour session combines the best of both worlds—boxing skills and strength & conditioning—in a single, high-energy workout. You’ll push your limits, sharpen your boxing technique, and build the strength, agility, and endurance you need to perform inside and outside the ring.

  • BOXER'S Training Class
  • Boxer's Training Class

    This is NOT cardio boxing—this is where you learn the art of boxing from the ground up. Each class is carefully designed by our coaches to teach real boxing skills, with a focus on:

    Bag Work & Partner Drills – build combinations on the heavy bag and work with a partner on bag-assisted defense and reaction drills.

    Footwork & Fundamentals – learn proper stance, balance, and movement so you can control distance and position.

    Offensive & Defensive Technique – sharpen your punches, defense, and counters through structured drills using gloves, noodles, and bags.

    By training consistently, you’ll learn how to throw punches correctly, how to move, and how to truly box. Every drill reinforces boxing fundamentals while keeping you challenged and engaged.

    Requirements: Boxing gloves, hand wraps and jump rope are mandatory.

    Format: 1-hour class.


    Who Can Participate: Adults only, 18+. No experience necessary!


  • Strength & Conditioning (BEAST)
  • Boxing Explosive Agility Strength Training (B.E.A.S.T.)

    Turn up the intensity and unleash your inner beast in this high-powered, interval-based circuit workout. Each class is packed with explosive boxing movements designed to build endurance, agility, strength, and knockout power.

    Whether your goal is to level up your fight conditioning or simply train like a champion, B.E.A.S.T. will push you through every round—sweating, punching, and powering your way to results.

    Focus: Full-body strength & conditioning

    Duration: 1 hour

    Who Can Participate: Adults only, 18+


  • Youth Bloomfield Rec
  • Introduction to Boxing
    Learn the fundamentals of Olympic-style boxing in this beginner-friendly program. Participants will be introduced to the basics of stance, footwork, punches, and defense while building confidence, coordination, and fitness. Each class is designed to be fun, safe, and structured—perfect for anyone new to the sport of boxing.

    Boxing gloves, hand wraps, and a jump rope are required.

    Details:

    Who Can Participate: Bloomfield residents, ages 10–17.

    Format: 1-hour classes

    Registration: All participants must register through the Bloomfield Recreation Department to take advantage of this program and resident discount rates.
